Mark Wheland After Richard Allen with Joe Mills Bag and Scott and Cathy Sibley Horn

This gun and the original will be at the 32nd Tennessee Kentucky Rifle Show this weekend. Mark Whelend made this close copy after an original rifle by Richard Allen of Jones County, Georgia. The rifle is iron mounted with heart shaped patch-box finial, incised carving.

The horn by Scott Sibley and bag by Joe Mills was commissioned by Bill Ruggie. The original rifle, bag and horn are pictured in the "Notes on Southern Long Rifles - Vol. 2" by Jerry Noble.

Information on Richard Allen can be found in "Notes on Southern Long Rifles" by Jerry Noble. Photos of the original gun, bag and horn in "Notes on Southern Long Rifles - Vol. 2" by Jerry Noble. Jerry is normally at the Tennessee Kentucky show with copies of his books for sale.

Photographed at the 2009 CLA Show in Lexington, KY by Jan Riser.
